  • out of Afghanistan

Many of us Canadians see ourselves as a peacekeeping people. We are proud of the peacebuilding that Canada has contributed to through the United Nations.

The current intervention in Afghanistan is NOT a UN mission that respects and builds on the wishes of the local people. Canada is part of a NATO military force in Afghanistan that has nothing to do with nation building. It does have to do with OIL, and as with Iraq, Canadians are right to be suspicious of the motives for being there.

Support Our Troops - Bring Them Home

Canada is openly supporting terrible, and misguided NATO policies. Why are we assisting interventionist policies? Where is the debate in Parliament to examine Canada’s troop commitment? What is the mission? We have the right to the truth before there is further deployment of Canadian troops.

Corporal Anthony Joseph Boneca killed July 9th, 2006.

Boneca's uncle, William Babe, told CTV his nephew was scheduled to return home in three weeks, and he was looking forward to the homecoming.

"He said, 'It's not like you see on TV and I would never do it again,'" Babe said, adding that Boneca was serving on his second tour in Afghanistan.
